About Us
Our company history begins in 1877. Hubertus Kobel returned to Kellinghusen from Quincy, USA, to the place where he had worked years earlier in the Jargstorff tannery. After Heinrich Jargstorff was elected first mayor of the city of Kellinghusen, he offered the tannery to Hubertus Kobel. Hubertus didn't hesitate and founded the leather factory "Kobel in 1877. Products
Vegetable tanned Leather
vegetable-tanned in the pit or in the barrel, which forms the basis of most of our items. Bridle or harness leather, for example, is made from it.
Harness Leather (hot-stuffed)
Classic for over 130 years. The vegetable-tanned leather receives unique properties and a strong pull-up effect through hot-stuffing.
Bridle Leather
Hand-waxed leathers for equestrian sports. These vegetable-tanned leathers are slightly aniline dyed and are mainly used for high-quality bridles.
Top-Toolingleather
This leather is ideal for punching and 3-D modeling.
Saddle Seat and Panel Leather
Combined tanned, pure aniline dyed and completely open-pored. The perfect combination of look and feel.
